Challenge
A rural healthcare organization was planning to move their health system from MEDITECH Magic to MEDITECH Expanse. Their cancer care clinic was using a paper process and to reduce risk and improve operations they were planning to move to Expanse Oncology. These transformational, complex projects meant they needed to expand the capacity and expertise of their internal IT team to meet ambitious timelines and manage change for their users.
Results
The organization completed a successful go-live upgrade on MEDITECH Expanse 2.2.40 in early March 2024 and went live on Expanse Oncology in early August. The Oncology implementation was well received. Not only did the clinical staff gain efficiencies in their workflows, but additional patient safety precautions are now in place with the Oncology platform.

We worked with the cancer care clinic to implement Expanse Oncology, which is an integrated ambulatory solution. Result
This organization transformed their oncology services with technology that replaced manual workflows. As a result, patient safety measures and operational efficiencies were introduced for some of their most critical patients. The whole organization was also uplifted to a more current version of their EHR which is modern, integrated, and is not on the verge of being considered obsolete and, therefore, unsupported by the EHR vendor.
